Why
Panama?
From
its discovery and colonization, the economic development
of Panama has been influenced by its geographical position,
as the most convenient pathway across the continental divided
between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This development
increased when the Panama Canal opened in 1914.
Panama has a privileged and strategic geographical position,
located at the heart of the Americas, where a mere 50 miles
separate the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, providing rapid
access to numerous markets.
The dollar has been widely used as legal currency in Panama
since 1903. As a result, Panama has had one of the lowest
levels of inflation in the hemisphere.
Panama has signed a number of bilateral investment promotion
and protection treaties with the United States, England,
Germany, France, Switzerland, China, Argentina, Chile with
the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency and, the Overseas
Investment Corporation (OPIC), among others.
Panama has always been a pleasant and relatively inexpensive
place to live. Social stability and safety are fundamental
elements for the development of the country; foreigners
and nationals are treated equally by the law, and discrimination
does not exist. Panama has excellent educational centers,
religious establishments of all denominations and the most
advanced health care services, such as the Johns Hopkins
Hospital affiliate, Hospital Punta Pacifica, as well as,
a spectacular nightlife and ecotourism.
Panama offers so many options when it comes to lifestyle
choices
and because it's cost of living is the most
affordable in Central America
you don't have to be
rich to retire in this paradise. In fact, even with a modest
retirement you can enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.
Panama
is outstanding in it's natural wonders and biodiversity.
